Narrative Design for Micro-Moments
Course Details
In the world of PC and console gaming, we have the luxury of "immersion." We can ask a player to sit through a ten-minute cinematic or read lore-heavy books found in a dungeon. In mobile gaming, that luxury is a liability. The mobile gamer is distracted, frequently interrupted, and playing in the "in-between" moments of life.
However, "short" does not mean "shallow."
This course teaches you how to weaponize brevity. You will learn to move away from traditional long-form storytelling and toward atomic narrative design. We will explore how to make a player feel a sense of mystery, triumph, or emotional connection in the time it takes to boil a kettle. By the end of this course, you won't just be writing dialogue; you’ll be designing "narrative hooks" that turn a 3-minute session into the highlight of a player's day.
